City Police joins the observance of 19th National Awareness Week for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation



PAGADIAN CITY (Feb. 11, 2015) -- Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) and the Police Community Relation (PCR) of the Pagadian City Police Station have joined the conduct of awareness activity in different schools in Pagadian City in line with the observance of 19th National Awareness Week for the Prevention of Sexual abuse and Exploitation on February 10, 2015.

This year’s theme: “Labanan ang Pang-aabusong Sekswal sa mga Bata: NOW NA.
       
WCPD Chief Police Inspector Lerma Boron who lectured about the Republic Act 7610 known as the “Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act to the Students of Napolan National High School



P1 Boron discussed the topic on Child Prostitution and Other Sexual Abuse while Senior Police Officer-2 Josette Naciongayo also talked on Drug Addiction Resistance Education including the negative effects of using dangerous drugs to the health of growing youth.

Salaam PNCO PO1 Elymar M Jaamil also shared the topic on Crime Prevention tips to the students.

He imparted to the students to learn arguments with words, not with fists or weapons and teach them to report crimes or suspicious activities to the police, school administrators, authorities or parents.

Po1 Jaamil also advised the student to use or learn safe routes for traveling to and from school, and identified good places to seek help in case of emergency.

She explained that the act provides stronger deterrence and special protection against child abuse, exploitation and discrimination, and for other purposes.

PAGADIAN CITY – The joint operatives of the Pagadian City Police Station (PCPS) and Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office together with the Army’s 53rd Infantry Battalion through its Police Community Relation (PCR) and the Civil Military Operation (CMO) in helping the constructions of houses in the resettlement area of the informal settlers at Barangay Bulatok in this city Wednesday February 18, 2015.
       
Pagadian City Chief of Police Supt. Glennn Dulawan said the activity was dubbed as “Bayanihan” that impressively displayed the old tradition of helping by getting enough volunteers in helping the families of informal settlers to build their houses in the relocation site after they voluntarily demolished their houses from Barangay Sta. Lucia.

The informal settlers were advised to transfer immediately to the relocation area following the construction of the new City Gym and sports facilities by the city government.    

The relocation area was provided by the City Government thru the Urban Poor Affairs Office (URPAO) and National Housing Authority the members of Urban Poor organization for owning the lot through installment bases.





The activity aims to extend humanitarian effort to help to the families who cannot afford the expenses to build their houses.

This is a new way of team building activity between the two coordinating unit with one desire and mission to help the community especially in community development and enhancement.


City PNP and 53rd IB joins in community clean-up drive activity





PAGADIAN CITY (Feb.21, 2015) – The members of the Pagadian City Police Station together with the Army’s 53rd Infantry Battalion of the Army’s First Infantry (Tabak) Division had joined the Community Clean-up Drive activities initiated by the Barangay Council of Barangay Bulatok over the week end at 6:00 in the morning.

Bulatok Barangay Chairman Vincenzo Cagampang who leads community activity said the Clean-up drive conducted at Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT) surroundings by the residents of the said barangay near the area.






Cagampang had expressed his gratitude to the members and officers of the City Police and the 53rd IB for joining them in their humble capability in clean-up drive activity with its yearning of winning the hearts of all individual with active community participation and community development.



Cagampang said their desire is for making the place looks good, clean and lovelier from the passengers and passersby and also providing the travelers good sanitary living condition.

Also joining the clean-up activity are the women and children, Barangay Tanuds, Zone officials and the youth sector in Barangay Bulatok.
