September 02, 2014 -(Pagadian City) In connection with National Crime Prevention Week celebration,the National Police Commission conducted a one-day seminar-workshop on Student Crime Prevention Committee and Crime & Drug Abuse Prevention and Control held at Holy Child Academy.

ATTY. Alexis
C. De Lima, Attorney V, NAPOLCOM-IX, discussed about Crime Prevention and
Operation of the Criminal Justice System. Atty. De Lima divulged the function of the
students as part of the community in maintaining the peace and order of our
locality.

Radaza, PDEA representative, talked about Drug Abuse Prevention and Control. Agent Radaza shared evidence-based
drug education that offer information about how many of the peers in the
adolescent age group and even in Hollywood actually had tried alcohol, tobacco
and illicit drugs. She also explained to the students about the short-term
effects of drugs to their mind and body as well as to their future.
To update the students on the Peace and Order Situation of Pagadian City, PSUPT Glenn Macario Dulawan, discussed about the crime situation of the city , special concerns, accomplishments and recent programs of the PNP. He also pointed out that the PNP, as the lead agency in anti-criminality NEEDS the cooperation of the community because peace is everyone’s concern. PI Psyche Barroquillo informed the students on the Tips on Crime Prevention.

Another topic discussed was about the Student Crime Prevention Committee (SCPC) by Ms. Salome Ansing. The highlight of the activity is the taking of oath of the SCPC officiated by Atty. Abad.
