20TH NCPW PRESS CONFERENCE at Executive Function Hall
(Pagadian) September 05, 2014- A press conference was held at the Pagadiain City Executive Function Hall this morning. This activity was in line with the week-long celebration of National Crime Prevention Week. It was attended by DILG  ARD Pedro G. Cuevas, NAPOLCOM-IX Regional Director Atty Macapado Guro, PRO9 represented by PSSUPT Jose Bayani Gucela, ZSPPO Provincial Director PSSUPT Sofronio P. Ecaldre, JSUPT Mamuerto Barroro, BFP FSUPT Edmundo Naraga, Mayor Romeo Pulmones of Pagadian City, PSUPT Glenn M. Dulawan of Pagadian City Police Station and FSI Reggy Olmendo of Pagdian City Fire Station.

ATTY Guro gave his welcome message and explained to the audience that we observe the National Crime Prevention Week because preventing crime is very important in order for the Filipino to live in a peaceful and harmonious country. According to him the PNP is really doing their duties and functions as the front-liners in crime prevention. “I really appreciate the efforts of the PNP in preventing crime and maintaining our peace and order. PNP is multitasking agency that are always ready in any forms of criminality and police related activities,” ATTY Guro added. Also, he remind the audience that crime prevention is not only the responsibility of the PNP but the responsibility of every member of the community.

One-day Seminar-Workshop on Student Crime Prevention Committee


PSupt. Dulawan discussed about the current peace and order situation 
September 02, 2014 -(Pagadian City) In connection with   National Crime Prevention Week celebration,the National Police Commission conducted a one-day seminar-workshop on Student Crime Prevention Committee and Crime & Drug Abuse Prevention and Control held at Holy Child Academy.

 ATTY. Alexis C. De Lima, Attorney V, NAPOLCOM-IX, discussed about Crime Prevention and Operation of the Criminal Justice System.  Atty. De Lima divulged the function of the students as part of the community in maintaining the peace and order of our locality.

Agent Ingrid E. Radaza, PDEA representative, talked about Drug Abuse Prevention and Control.  Agent Radaza shared evidence-based drug education that offer information about how many of the peers in the adolescent age group and even in Hollywood actually had tried alcohol, tobacco and illicit drugs. She also explained to the students about the short-term effects of drugs to their mind and body as well as to their future.


To update the students on the Peace and Order Situation of Pagadian City, PSUPT Glenn Macario Dulawan, discussed about the crime situation of the city , special concerns, accomplishments and recent programs of the PNP. He also pointed out that the PNP, as the lead agency in anti-criminality NEEDS the cooperation of the community because peace is everyone’s concern. PI Psyche Barroquillo informed the students on the Tips on Crime Prevention.

Another topic discussed was about the Student Crime Prevention Committee (SCPC) by Ms. Salome Ansing. The highlight of the activity is the taking of oath of the SCPC  officiated by Atty. Abad.

Pagadian City Police joins the 20th National Crime Prevention week celebration


PAGADIAN CITY (September 01, 2014) – The Personnel of Pagadian City Police Station joined the National Police Commission (Napolcom) Interagency Technical Working Committee in Celebrating the 20th National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW) with the Theme: Krimen ay Labanan, Karapatan ay Igalang Tungo sa Mapayapang Pamayanan.

In connection with this week long celebration, a program was organized by the National Police Commission Region9 at Provincial Capitol Covered Court this morning. 


It was attended by the different local agencies: Provincial Interior and Local Government, Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office spearheaded by PSSupt. Sofronio P Ecaldre,  Bureau of Jail Management and Penology  headed by JSSupt.  Arnulfo Obias, Bureau of Fire Protection  and students from different schools. 

.

The activity started with a motorcade/parade at Plaza Luz down to the City Proper toward the  Provincial Capitol followed by a program proper held at the Provincial Capitol Covered Court.  Hon Antonio Herera Cerilles Provincial Governor,of Zamboanga del Sur, the Guest of Honor and Speaker  reiterated that everybody must observe crime prevention everyday not only for this week. He also reminds the Selection Board in charge in the recruitment of PNP, BJMP and BFP to scrutinize and select the suitable applicants that will enter the police, jail and  fire bureau for they will be the front-liners in crime prevention.
