PCPS joined Anti-Illegal Drugs Symposium

Pagadian City Pilot School conducted Symposium to all their students on October 07, 2014 at 8:00 A.M..  This activity was in line with the National Children's Month and was supported by the Local Government. It was attended by the Peace and Order Chairman Hon, Ernesto Mondarte and Brgy. Chairman of Brgy San Jose, Hon. Eddie Torres and his Barangay Officials. One of the topics is on Illegal Drugs which intends to educate the students of the negative effects of Illegal Drugs in their mind and body as well as to their future.

PInsp Lerma CaƱete Boron, Chief WCPD of this station also participated in the said event. The said PCO talked about Republic Act 7610 and gave emphasis on House Bill 5496, the Anti-Bullying Act of 2012. The Chief WCPD seeks to promote greater awareness of the impact of bullying and how it can be prevented.

Bullying is now the number one non-academic issue that most educators face, and is one of the top concerns of many parents. Defined as an act of repeated aggressive behavior in order to intentionally hurt another person either emotionally, verbally, or physically, bullying is characterized by an individual behaving in a certain way to gain power over another person. Bullies may behave this way out of jealousy or because they themselves are bullied. When they leave school, they most likely carry on their bullying in the workplace.

With the approval of the Anti-Bullying Act of 2012, this has started just right, providing relief for the millions of students who experience bullying in school. It is hoped that the Anti-Bullying Act of 2012 will help schools create an environment where children can develop their potentials and grow as responsible and better individuals in the future.
