PAGADIAN CITY (Nov.
16, 2014) – The Pagadian City Police Station through their Police Community
Relation (PCR) and the Women’s and Children’s Section had served a total of 163
children from Pre-schools and Day-care centers in 5 Barangays in Pagadian City,
City Police Official said.
PCR headed by Police
Inspector Barroquillo said the feeding project was initiated by Pagadian City Police
Station Chief Supt Glenn M. Dulawan in coordination’s with the Barangay
Officials and also with the Department of Education (DepEd) for the pre-schools
and office of the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) for the Day-care since
October 29 up to November 12.
On October 29 the
feeding was conducted in Barangay Buenavista with 30 children benefited,
October 31 Feeding in Campo Islam with 48 children beneficiaries, November 3 in
Barangay Bolatoc benefited 30 children, November 5 in Barangay Balintawak serving
25 children and on November 12 in coastal Barangay of Murikay serving 30
children.
The children were also
received schools supplies, one pad paper, notebook, pencil and eraser,
Barroquillo said.
She added that during the
feeding program the parents and care takers were also included and attended lectures
regarding the Republic Act 7610 on Anti-Child
Abuse Law and R.A. 9208 on Anti-trafficking
in persons and gave counseling to them on how to handle their growing children
in a right way. The children were also given moral stories from the bible.
The project is part of
the Gender Awareness Development (Dialogue or Pulong-pulong) program of the PNP. (JC-MPF News)
