CDRRMC together with the PNP and Military will conduct Bomb Awareness and Education Campaign in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (August 27, 2014-PCR News) --- The City Disaster Risk Reduction Council CDRRMC) and Peace and Order Council headed by Hon. Ernesto Mondarte together with the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Army-Armed Forces of the Philippines (PA-AFP) will be holding a one week Bomb Awareness Education Campaign in Pagadian City, City Hall Official said.

CDRRMC coordinator Haron Damada said that two teams were organized to conduct  bomb awareness and campaign activities in Pagadian City and started this morning today.


Damada said the activities is the implementation of the action plan by the City Peace and Order Council to anticipate any man-made calamities that will happen anytime to disrupt the peace and order condition of the city.

Pagadian City Police Community Relation joins the tree planting


The Pagadian City Police Community Relation (PCR) headed by Police Inspector Barroquillo had joined the tree planting activity held at Barangay Palpalan, this city Monday morning, August 25, 2014.

The tree planting activity is in support with President Benigno Aquino’s National Greening Program which aims to plant 1.5 billion trees in 1.5 million hectares for the years 2011 to 2016.

The tree planting activity was spearheaded by the 901st Community Defense Center (CDC) 9th Regional Community Defense Group (RCDG) formerly 134th Home Defense Center Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) and the Pagadian City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, Community Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO) Office-Pagadian City, ROTC students from different schools and other stakeholders.

Before the planting, a simple program was conducted with Pagadian City Vice Mayor Divina Grace Yu as the Guest of Honor together with her husband 1st Congressional District of Zamboanga del Sur Congressman Victor Yu.

Also joining the tree planting are the residents of Brgy Palpalan headed by Chairwoman Beverly Denopol.


Beautiful women nowadays plant trees. 


A total of 1,100 seedlings of Mahogany tree were planted in 3-hectares area near Palpalan Elementary School.  The tree planting ended at about 10:00 O’clock in the morning.

SALAAM Police visits Muslim Community

PCR Team visited Muslim community at Brgy. Sta. Lucia,
Pagadian City

One of the functions of Salaam Police is to undertake close monitoring, networking and liaison activities with the Muslim Communities in addressing terrorism and lawless violence in their respective areas, to guarantee that Muslims are not discriminate, oppressed or singled out.  

Thereby, Salaam Police is tasked to establish meaningful linkages with Muslim Communities in Pagadian City. 

Likewise, continuous information and education campaign among the different Muslim Communities to enlighten them of their rights and obligations is to be conducted.

Hence, on August 18, 2014 SALAAM PNCO PO1 Elymar Marcaban Jaamil visited one of the Muslim communities located at Barangay. Sta Lucia, Pagadian City purposely to inform the Muslim community in the area regarding the existence of SALAAM Police and their participation to its functions in the PNP organization.  

PInsp. Psyche VI Labtang Barooquillo and PInsp. Lerma CaƱete Boron also joined the said visitation.

A lecture was also conducted with the following topics: Republic Act 9262 and Republic Act 7610.
