City PNP Participates in the Barangay Synchronized Assembly

PInsp Lerma Boron attended the barangay assembly at Barangay Tawagan Sur on October 12, 2014 at 9:00 in the morning.  The assembly is a synchronized activity of (54) barangays in the City administered by the DILG. PInsp Boron talked about the Barangay Justice System reiterating to the barangay council of the purposes of its establishment.  She appealed to the barangay leaders to settle small disputes especially offenses punishable by imprisonment not exceeding one (1) year or a fine not exceeding five thousand pesos (P5,000.00) before referring such in the police station. With this, cases with larger need of police attention will be attended immediately. With our limited human resources and mobility, it is difficult and exhausting not only on the part of the police but also on the part of complainant going to the police station and returning to the barangay so on and so forth. “Barangay Justice System is an effective way of easing up the congestion of cases and complaint not only in the city police station but also in the judicial courts. Also, it prevents or avoids family clash and humiliation in court” PInsp Boron added.

Two more barangays were visited by PInsp Boron that day with the same purpose at about 3:00 O’clock in the afternoon at Brgy Kalasan and at about 05:00 O'clock P.M. at Brgy. Danlugan.
