PAGADIAN
CITY (Feb. 11, 2015) -- Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) and the
Police Community Relation (PCR) of the Pagadian City Police Station have joined
the conduct of awareness activity in different schools in Pagadian City in line
with the observance of 19th National Awareness Week for the Prevention of
Sexual abuse and Exploitation on February 10, 2015.
This
year’s theme: “Labanan ang Pang-aabusong Sekswal sa mga Bata: NOW NA.

Boron discussed the topic on Child Prostitution and Other Sexual Abuse
while Senior Police Officer-2 Josette Naciongayo also talked on Drug
Addiction Resistance Education including the negative effects of using
dangerous drugs to the health of growing youth.

PNCO PO1 Elymar M Jaamil also shared the topic on Crime Prevention tips to the
students.
He
imparted to the students to learn arguments with words, not with fists or
weapons and teach them to report crimes or suspicious activities to the police,
school administrators, authorities or parents.

Jaamil also advised the student to use or learn safe routes for traveling to
and from school, and identified good places to seek help in case of emergency.
She
explained that the act provides stronger deterrence and special protection against
child abuse, exploitation and discrimination, and for other purposes.
