PAGADIAN CITY – The personnel of the City Police
Station had joined the 4th Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill
on November 14, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.
Pagadian City chief of Police Supt. Glenn M Dulawan
said the Earthquake Drill was in partnership with the City Disaster Risk
Reduction Management Council (CDRRMC) coordinator Harold Damada and City Bureau
of Fire Protection (BFP) warden Fire Senior Insp. Reggy Olmedo.
Dulawan
said the drill seeks to intensify the local community’s earthquake preparedness
and to strengthen the commitment of local government units (LGUs) for
public safety.
CDRRMC was tasked to lecture about what is earthquake, its causes and the effects and types of hazard generated by earthquake were also included in the discussion.
A
scenario on how to respond proper management, the Do's and
Don'ts of command during the incident was also explained to the PNP
personnel.
Earthquake
drills and exercises is very important parts for earthquake preparedness of the
government effort in enhancing awareness to the community and to all government
agencies.
